When it comes to Black Friday shopping, most people don't want to face the chaotic crowds in stores. That's why a lot of people shop online, plus the deals online are always better than the sales in stores AND you can still get the deals even if a physical store is not located around you! I, myself, went crazy with all the sales on my favorite websites - Urban Outfitters don't have stores close to me and BooHoo and Jeffree Star don't have any physical stores (yet) so I took advantage of their online store sales. I just recently received my package from BooHoo and I wasn't too pleased...
Sure, I'm happy with the items I received, however, the actual packaging itself was over the top and very unnecessary. Just about EVERY item I got was wrapped in plastic. Watch the video below to see everything I got and all of the packaging it came in. Here are the items I bought and how they came packaged if you don't want to watch the video: - Boots: came with a lot of paper shoved in the box to prevent the shoes from moving around as well as paper to cover them and even more paper shoved inside the boots so that they'd keep their shape. Lastly, they came in a cardboard box. - Arm cuff: this arm cuff was attached to a piece of paper and then wrapped in a small plastic bag. - Triangle earrings: these were attached to a piece of paper, placed in a small plastic bag, and then wrapped with bubble wrap. - Puff ball earrings: these earrings were also attached to a piece of paper and wrapped up into a large plastic bag. - Jeans: these were folded and placed in a plastic bag. They had two basic paper tags. - Belt: the belt was wrapped in plastic and then put into a plastic bag. It had the basic paper tags attached. - Socks: these were attached to a piece of paper, like usual, and wrapped in a plastic bag. - All of these items arrived in a huge, you guessed it, plastic bag. This plastic does not even have recycling logos nor are they even recyclable by many companies. After reading this, I'm sure you've read the word "plastic" so many times that you never want to see it again. That's definitely how I feel. This amount of plastic waste is outrageous and this needs to be taken care of. For the items that needed the extra protection while in transit, big companies like BooHoo can invest in our planet by shipping in biodegradable plastic. Here's my Black Friday shopping "haul" video showing all of this plastic waste.
